Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. Headquarters Information Planning Group Group Manager Takao Yajima was invited and a special lecture on NAIS was held on Tuesday, June 12th at the Kyoto University of Information Sciences, Mantani Campus.
About 70 people, including NAIS members, students of Kyoto University of Information Sciences, and Kyoto Computer Gakuin, participated on the day, and Matsushita Electric's management reforms using IT started from a business deficit in 2001 to ¥ 460 billion in FY2006. I listened to the lecture about whether it recovered to the surplus. In the Matsushita Group prior to the management reform, there was competition, management resources were dispersed, and the company was heavy and slow. ”Realization” and “creation of creative time” and hit products such as large flat-screen televisions were recovered.
Particularly interesting for us, who are studying IT and management, are the fact that top management has promoted IT innovation by saying “no management reform without IT innovation” and realized the above management reform. The background is that Mr. Nakamura (at that time) had management experience in Matsushita, USA, and based on that, he would have built the business management system that Japanese global companies should be.
