Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), a group school of Kyoto Computer Gakuin Institute (KCGI), held the "KCG AWARDS 2025 - Student Work Presentation" on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the 6th floor main hall of KCG Kyoto Ekimae Campus, and Mr. Ito from KCGI gave a guest presentation.
On Friday, January 31, KCGI held a Master Project Public Hearing where students presented the results of their Master Projects, which were the culmination of two years of study and research. "Word-level Sign Language Recognition by Video Vision Transformer with Transition Learning," by Mr. Ito, a specialist in artificial intelligence, was selected as the outstanding work, which aims to improve the recognition accuracy of signs as a possible communication method between hearing impaired and normal hearing people, applying the Video Vision Transformer (ViViT) model.This guest presentation introduced advanced graduate school research to KCG students in an easy-to-understand manner, and was also helpful to the students as they considered their future career paths.Mr. Ito balances work and study as a working student.We plan to present the results of this project at the Japan Society for Applied Informatics (NAIS) in March and at the 2025 National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in May.
The "KCG AWARDS" is an event where KCG students present the works they have developed and produced as the culmination of a year of study and research. Six groups selected for excellence at the "Project Seminar Presentation" in early February present their results in a presentation format.Six judges from the IT industry were in charge of the competition, and all of the entries were highly evaluated for their originality and the level of their work has been increasing year by year.
