Message

With Flexibility and a Global Perspective

My specialty, art history, is a field of study that focuses on theories about art, works of art, and artists, and it covers a wide range of topics with different methodologies and approaches. However, they all have one thing in common: they are all works of art created by human beings, and researchers strive to face the originals as much as possible.Even in the case of lost works, we investigate works by the same artist or school, works of the same period, similar works, and works from the same region in which they were created, and examine related literature to get an overview of the works in question.

Until the beginning of this century, heavy single-lens reflex cameras and large amounts of film were the usual companions for such research. Digital cameras were expensive and still lacked resolution. For presentations and classes, reversal film was used to take pictures and turn the film into slides. The cost of the film and the cost of developing the film are not insignificant. The success or failure of the shot is not known until the film is developed.Today, research is still essential, and cameras and scanners are still necessary, but with the ability to check the condition on the spot, the ease of copying and sending/receiving data, and the increase in the number of images and documents available from around the world via the Internet, we have come a long way.

Of course, this is just the beginning.Technological innovation has always been a part of our lives, but in this century, IT has made remarkable progress, opening up many possibilities in every field. While the dreams of the past have become reality, new challenges have emerged along with them. Although rules and solutions are being formulated each time, the accelerating pace of internationalization and informatization has exceeded the limits of what a single country can handle. In the near future, it is you who will play a central role on the front lines. I urge you to keep a global perspective, be aware of the fact that you are living in the world, and strive to realize your dreams and potential for a bright future. I hope that many motivated people from all walks of life and from all countries will gather here, learn here, and leave here.
