On November 11th (Friday), NAIS Special Lecture and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics Founding Lecture “Frontier of Research on Human Centric Computing” was held at Kyoto Information University University Kyoto University Hall. The audience nodded in agreement as the lecturer, Yoshinori Yanaginuma, Director of the Human Solutions Research Department, Human-Centric Computing Laboratory, Fujitsu Laboratories Limited, gave an interesting glimpse into the frontiers of human-centered computer research.
After joining Fujitsu Laboratories, Mr. Yanaginuma was engaged in research and development of neural networks, sensor data fusion, parallel computer applications, and data mining algorithms and system applications. From 1999 to 2000, he was a visiting scholar at Imperial College in the U.K. Since 2009, he has been engaged in the development of human-centric computing technologies and human solutions.
NAIS, the organizer of the lecture, is the Japanese branch of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), an international information systems society.Since its establishment in August 2004, an office has been set up at the The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) facility, and members are widely recruited regardless of academia and industry.
