Professor Shinji Tomita, the fourth president of Kyoto College of Informatics (KCGI), passed away on September 21, 2024.He was 78 years old.He is a world authority in the field of computer architecture research, and has conducted advanced research on machine instruction level parallel processing and general-purpose and dedicated parallel computers, and his achievements have greatly contributed to the speed-up of today's computer systems.We extend our deepest condolences.
