On July 20 (Fri.) and 21 (Sat.), 2007, the Open Source Conference will hold its first Kansai Regional Conference, co-hosted by the University of Tokyo.The Open Source Conference is an event with more than 20 sponsors and more than 20 groups scheduled to participate.It will consist of exhibits by the open source community, companies and organizations, and seminars providing the latest information on open source.We look forward to your participation.

On Tuesday, June 12, a special lecture meeting of the Japan Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (NAIS) will be held at the Hyakumanben Campus of the Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology.
On September 1 (Sat) and 2 (Sun), an instructional design seminar sponsored by The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics will be held.The lecturers will be Dr. Minoru Uchida, specially accredited professor at the Center for Media Education and Development (NIME), and Dr. Katsuaki Suzuki, professor at the Department of Systems Studies, Graduate School of Social and Cultural Sciences, Kumamoto University, who will be giving a lecture to commemorate the full-scale ID seminar in the Kansai region.We therefore call for active participation by people in the Kansai region.
Professor Shigeru Eiyasu of the Kyoto Institute of Information Science will give a lecture at the prefectural citizens' seminar hosted by the Kyoto Information Industry Association.All interested parties are welcome to attend.
The 40th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was held at the Kyoto International Conference Hall (Sakyo-ku, Kyoto) from May 4 to 7, 2007, with approximately 3,000 participants including finance ministers and central bank governors from 67 countries and regions.
On May 24, the Kyoto Support and Promotion Council for the 40th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) (May 4-7) announced the outline of the "Kyoto Day" to be held on May 5 at the Kyoto International Conference Hall (Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City).
A second-year student at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics passed the “SAP Certified Solution Consultant Financials” exam by SAP Germany.It is said that this exam cannot be passed without specialized training from a vendor, but as a result of the education provided by a faculty member with extensive business experience from a company and a young faculty member with strong economic and IT backgrounds working in tandem, this was the first time a graduate student had passed the exam.
