On July 18 (Fri.) and 19 (Sat.), 2008, the Open Source Conference Kansai Region will be held under the co-sponsorship of TUAT, following last year.The Open Source Conference is an event with more than 20 sponsors and more than 20 groups scheduled to participate.It will consist of exhibits by the open source community, companies and organizations, and seminars providing the latest information on open source.We look forward to your participation.

The Japan Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (NAIS) will hold a lecture on Friday, August 1.

TUAT has conducted seminars and other activities to support high school teachers.Based on these achievements, the following program has been adopted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) as a training program for improving the teaching ability of science and mathematics teachers, continuing on from the previous year.We will hold a seminar to support "Information" classes as follows.We look forward to your participation.We would appreciate it if you could inform interested teachers.

On July 27 (Sun.), ALC Education will hold an English e-Learning Workshop for school teachers at TUFS: "Complementary Use of E-Learning to Support Motivation for Learning.

The magnitude 8 earthquake that struck Sichuan Province, China on May 12, 2008, caused tremendous damage, leaving as many as 100,000 people dead or missing, and many people are still forced to live as evacuees due to collapsed houses and roads cut off.The students who have studied abroad from China at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics and Kyoto Computer Gakuin are deeply amazed by the disaster of their home country.

Kyoto Computer Gakuin's engineering department will exhibit at Embedded Technology West 2008/ Embedded Technology Expo Kansai.

The KCG Group's "kcg.edu Chinese Students Association Wishing for the Recovery of the Earthquake-Stricken Area" (Representative: Mr. Xuan Mingcheng, Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology), together with Chinese students from neighboring universities, conducted a street fund-raising campaign in the Sanjo Bridge area of Kyoto City from May 23 (Friday) to 25 (Sunday), 2008, in order to help the victims of the Sichuan Earthquake that caused extensive damage and to support reconstruction.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

An unprecedented attempt by the University of Eastern Europe and Japanese universities to conclude an online academic education exchange agreement was made at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI).KCG Group (KCGI and Kyoto Computer Gakuin) held a signing ceremony with the University of Pardubice in the Czech Republic on May 15, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.

Two international students from KCGI passed the difficult "SAP Certified Consultant" exam.This is the first time that a foreign student studying in Japan has passed this exam.It is a certification examination authorized by SAP ^※1, the world's largest ERP package manufacturer, and those who obtain this certification are eligible for consulting services required by companies and other organizations when they implement the ERP system ^※2.Their achievement in overcoming the language barrier and other obstacles to pass the exam, which is considered difficult even for working
