Kyoto International Manga/Anime Fair 2012 begins

The Kyoto International Manga/Anime Fair 2012 (KIMAF), a manga and anime festival sponsored by KCGI and KCG, opened on Friday, March 21 at the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Exhibition Hall (Miyako Messe) in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City.KYOMAFU is the largest manga/anime trade fair in western Japan, organized by Kyoto City and others and supported by KCGI and KCG.Publishers, animation production companies, video makers, and broadcasting stations will exhibit their works, and a variety of stage events will be held.KCGI and KCG will exhibit student works and introduce KCGI's lectures for animation.

General Public Lecture "Advanced Contents Industry

The "Content Industry Special Lecture" offered at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics will be open to the general public.This course introduces the unique Japanese culture centering on doujin activities in anime, games, fashion, etc., and examines the content of these activities, their markets, and their impact on various aspects of society.

ET Robocon 2012 Kansai Regional Competition

ET Robocon 2012

ET Robocon is an event themed on technical education in the field of embedded software.The competition is based on the speed of an inverted pendulum (2-wheeled robot) called LEGO MINDSTORM NXT, which walks autonomously on a predetermined course, and on the technology of software analyzed and designed using UML (Unified Modeling Language) and other languages under the same hardware.

Japan's first "International IT Business Course" will be newly established in 2013

In April 2013, KCGI will open the "International IT Business Course" to train professionals in offshore development (*1), BPO (*2), and IT services to Japanese companies.Many IT-related companies in the world today are ordering software development overseas.Graduates are expected to be employed by these companies and work as transnational development specialists.There is no such course of study or research at any higher education institution in Japan.
