メッセージ
レベルが高いか低いかに関係なく，教育は全世界的にその重要性を増しつつありますが，特にアメリカにおける学問と教育システムが他の国々に大きな影響を与えています。私の授業では，アメリカにおける教育（特に幼稚園から高校三年までの期間）が他国の教育とどのようなインタラクションを作り出しているかに重点を置きます。
京都情報大学院大学で勉強している学生の皆さんは，その学歴，出身国，人生経験に関係なく教育が世界の技術，芸術，文化に大きな貢献をしていることを知っているでしょう。アメリカの教育システム，すなわちその政策，カリキュラム，評価，特殊教育，二か国語教育などを学ぶことにより，これら複雑なシステムがいかに機能し，これらの機能をいかにして最適活用すべきかを理解することができます。ニューヨーク州およびニューヨーク市の状況を例として，アメリカと他国との状況との比較研究を行います。私達はこれらの学習からの理解を基にして自分達の国における教育システムの改革に寄与することができます。
