メッセージ

これまで私は,多種多様な情報ネットワークのサービス品質,効率的なリソースの管理保証のためのシステム設計や制御方式,システムの性能解析と最適化などの数理・情報工学分野を中心に研究と教育に携わってきました。

現実社会の様々な問題解決へ向け,数学や物理学を応用する学問が数理工学です。私の専門分野の一つである「待ち行列理論とネットワーク応用」において,「ネットワークにおける適応型リソース管理」を例に説明すると,多様な情報ネットワークの潜在的な伝送速度と品質の能力を最大に引き出し,かつ異なる通信サービスの品質を保持しつつ,エネルギー消費やコスト削減を可能にする適応型リソース管理システムの確立が求められています。新たに提案されるシステムの有効性や合理性を示すには,ネットワーク上のトラヒックの確率的振る舞いについて,システムモデリングに基づく理論的解析ならびに数値的評価,従来のシステムとの性能比較を行う必要があります。そこでは,トラヒック理論やマルコフ過程論などの数学手法をはじめ,最適化手法やアルゴリズム,アプローチ,シミュレーション技法などを駆使します。私はまた,数理的手法を用いたアルゴリズムによるクラウド型Web情報抽出・発信等多機能サポートシステムの構築など多様な地域問題解決の研究も行い,種々のICTの応用により,社会に役立つ取り組みを展開しています。

本学では,これまでの教育と研究の経験を活かし,情報社会の未来をひらく,グローバル企業に求められる高度な実践能力と創造性,そして人間性豊かな応用情報技術専門家の育成に努めたいと思います。
