KCGI team 8th place-ET Robocon Kansai region conference

Two-wheel self-propelled robot runs on the circuit-ET Robocon 2012 Kansai region conference (sponsored by the Embedded Systems Technology Association) on the theme of technical education in the field of embedded software, September 16 (Sun), Kyoto University of Information Studies It was held at the Kyoto Ekimae Satellite Grand Hall, and the student team “Dot Kyoto” of Kyoto Information Graduate University (KCGI) won the 8th place for the first time.Although I did not participate in the national tournament, I achieved the best results for the student team and met my expectations next year.

ET Robocon clears time and obstacles for the purpose of running the obstacle course on the same two-wheeled self-propelled robot (inverted pendulum using Lego Mindstorms NXT) in accordance with regulations, and the concept of software to be embedded Compete for the level of the model diagram showing.The Kansai region conference is provided by KCGI and KCG in the form of “special cooperation / host cooperation”.

Twenty-six teams participated in the competition.Our “Dot Kyoto” team cleared the basic stage with no obstacles in the first try (OUT course).In the second try (IN course), the basic stage was cleared, but the next obstacle look-up gate (the hurdle that passed by tilting the robot on its back) was knocked down and stopped.As a result of this good fight, I finished 6th in the driving category and 8th overall.

The team consists of four KCGI first-generation students, Miki Urakami, Daisuke Yamauchi, Takanari Shishido, and Keisuke Yamazaki.I also helped Yusuke Kawachi, a graduate student and a specially-appointed researcher at Osaka University.Leader Urakami said, “I was glad that I was able to achieve the goal of clearing the basic stage thanks to my time spent working this year.I want to share this experience as a reference for next year and onwards, "he said with a smile.
