Information on “Information” class support seminar for school teachers

The University has held seminars to support high school teachers.Based on these achievements, the following programs were adopted this year as well as last year as a training program for improving the teaching skills of math and science teachers of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).Therefore, the “Information” class support seminar will be held as follows.Please join us.I would appreciate it if you could let me know your interested teachers.

Seminar contents

(1) Diagnosis support by medical imaging system
Lecturer: Shigeru Eibo, Professor, Kyoto University of Information Sciences

In recent years, diagnostic imaging is commonly used as an application of multimedia data in the medical field.This is because medical imaging devices, beginning with X-ray photography, have made it possible for doctors to perform diagnosis and treatment by examining (observing) internal information of the human body from the outside.Recently, high-definition human body 3D data has been acquired and stored in a computer as a digital human body so that measurement and processing display can be performed in real time.The basic concept of image data processing and the extraction of diagnostic data from those results, which are the basis of these, is described, and then an example of application using heart-related images is shown.It also touches on issues to be solved in the future.

(2) Practice of image processing using spreadsheet software

In the current subject "Information", processing of numerical data is not the main programming language, but processing using spreadsheet software is recommended.Therefore, image processing as introduced in “Introduction to Information Media” is performed in a practical form.Here, we will practice how to understand the principles of image processing by changing the color tone by numerically processing each cell of the spreadsheet software as a pixel.

(3) Current status of video production in Japan and China
Lecturer: Kyoji Emi, Associate Professor, Kyoto University of Information Sciences

Due to the fact that some Japanese videos (including anime) are produced in China, video production education is becoming popular in China.Therefore, I will give lectures while comparing the characteristics of Japanese videos, especially Japanese-style animation, with American videos, and give lectures on what should be focused on when creating videos.
