Support System

Detailed individual instruction for diverse students

KCGI has established a detailed educational support system to enable students with diverse backgrounds to study according to their aptitudes and goals.

Provision of course patterns according to the level of knowledge at the time of enrollment

From the very beginning, students with various levels of IT skills have been admitted to our school, ranging from liberal arts graduates with little computer knowledge, to science graduates with basic computer knowledge, to adults working in the IT industry as SEs. The level of knowledge about business also varies, some of our working students are business owners.

Therefore, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics has established an education system that provides students with the most appropriate study patterns according to their basic knowledge, current business fields, and their future goals.

This way, students without prior knowledge can easily reach their targeted talent image starting from basic knowledge. Students who already have basic knowledge can skip the basic courses, increase their specialization expertise and develop their skills efficiently by starting with more specialized and applied courses.

Course Instruction

In order to realize effective and efficient learning for students, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics has established a course guidance counseling system in which each student and his/her academic coordinator (academic advisor) discuss with each other and select courses. Students will decide on specific courses through individual consultation with academic coordinators, taking into consideration the knowledge and skills they currently have and their future goals. Through this course guidance process, each student will be able to think about his or her life plan after completing their courses while studying at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics.

Office Hours

At the Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics, the number of students per full-time teacher is 10 or less. If lecturers and assistants are included, the ratio of teachers is even higher, and a close relationship can be established similar to a one-to-one system. In order to take advantage of this aspect, KCGI has established office hours for full-time teachers. Each faculty member will meet students at a designated location, such as a laboratory.
