Summary

The society we live in today is rapidly becoming digitalized and entering the era of “Society 5.0.” Advances in computer technology, particularly AI, have dramatically improved the efficiency of our society, while the development of the Internet has created an environment where people around the world can access information simultaneously and individuals can disseminate information globally.
The Internet has broken down traditional barriers to information between countries, regions, and companies, creating a society where information is shared globally. Furthermore, AI has become deeply integrated into our daily lives. As AI and robotics continue to evolve, they will likely free humans from simple, repetitive and dangerous tasks. While the direction of this societal transformation ultimately depends on human decision-making, the rapid changes in societal structures and environments are undeniable. In light of these societal changes, this lecture aims to explore how IT industries and IT-related roles are evolving, as well as the skills and competencies that will be required of IT professionals in the future.
