Zero Trust Security
Lecturer Shozo Naito (Professor)
Summary Traditional information security primarily focused on dividing networks into trusted internal and untrusted external zones, implementing countermeasures at their boundary. These security measures assumed that all handled data resided within the network and that only internal entities connected to it. However, with the cloud migration of corporate data and the rise of remote work enabling external network access, traditional security approaches have become insufficient. This has led to the emergence of the Zero Trust approach in recent years. Zero Trust is a security strategy based on the premise of never trusting any communication. This mini-lecture will discuss Zero Trust as a security countermeasure for workstyle reform and digital transformation (DX) initiatives.
