New Campus Building -Designed based on the latest educational theories-

We believe that the quality of education is important.
Even as schools have developed, educational philosophy remains the same.
A new building was completed at the Hyakumanben Campus in the summer of 2022.Here in Kyoto, a historical city full of learning, we will further enhance the educational environment and make extensive use of this new base for new IT education and international exchange.With the completion of the new building, the Hyakumanben campus site is now approximately three times larger than before.The new building will consist of four stories above ground and one below, and will serve as a venue for delivering cutting-edge, groundbreaking, and global education grounded in the university’s educational experience and theory.
Since its founding in 2004 as Japan’s first and only professional graduate school specializing in IT, our university has built a strong track record in education, and our numerous education experts from Japan and abroad are dedicated to developing curricula that respond promptly to the needs of the times.The enrollment capacity, which was 80 students (out of a total capacity of 160) at the time of the university’s founding, has now expanded 12.5-fold to 1,000 students (out of a total capacity of 2,000), making it one of the largest in the country among graduate schools specializing in information science.In recent years, large numbers of international students have been coming to study here not only from Asia and Europe and the United States, but also from Africa and Latin America.
Large Lecture Hall
In addition to classes, the large lecture hall can be used for a variety of purposes, including lectures, concerts, plays, and film screenings.In collaboration with a specialized acoustic consulting firm, we conduct detailed acoustic simulations starting from the design phase to create an optimal viewing environment suited to a wide range of usage scenarios.Each seat is equipped with a power outlet and offers both wired and wireless Internet access, allowing you to comfortably use devices such as laptops.It can accommodate up to 200 people.
Hybrid-Flexible Classrooms
Classrooms designed to the Hybrid-Flexible (Hy-Flex) standard are engineered to flexibly accommodate a variety of teaching formats, including active learning—where students take the lead in group work and presentations—as well as Hybrid-Flexible classes that combine in-person and online elements.Equipped with smart displays, microphones, and speakers, it creates a seamless environment for teaching and learning, allowing students to attend classes together regardless of whether they are in a classroom or online. The walls throughout the classroom are designed to be used as whiteboards and also serve as idea boards.
Innovation Room
The Innovation Room is designed to serve as a space where students and faculty from different fields can come together to spark innovation through discussions, public presentations, and other activities, thereby generating new ideas.Just like in the High-Flex classrooms, the entire wall—from floor to ceiling—can be used as a whiteboard.We also envision its use in settings where students and working professionals collaborate, such as industry-government-academia partnership programs.The design allows the glass partitions to be fully opened, integrating the space with the adjacent open area so that it can also serve as a foyer for events and lectures held in the large lecture hall.
Lab Room
The lab is equipped with the latest, high-performance computers, which are primarily used for practical training in areas such as artificial intelligence programming, databases, and ERP business management.It can also be used for self-study and assignments.
Studio
We have set up a green-screen studio for filming video footage for CG compositing and a recording studio, both of which can be used for practical training in the field of IT entertainment.
Personal Work Booth
Private work booths are located on the second and third floors; they feature high sound insulation, allowing for comfortable communication with remote colleagues.Equipped with large desks and internet access, the space is designed to provide a comfortable environment where students can focus on online classes, group work meetings, assignments, self-study, and online interviews.
Library
The library houses approximately 10,000 books, magazines, and academic papers—primarily on IT-related topics—in Japanese, English, and Chinese.Checking out books is a breeze—simply hold your book and student ID up to the self-checkout machine. In addition to private spaces where you can read books or study on your own, we also have tables available for group use.
