I worked at Fujitsu for about 10 years in the design, development, and maintenance of operating systems (communication functions) for general-purpose computers.Every time I withdrew my salary from an ATM at a bank that was a customer, I felt a sense of excitement and relief that the program I had worked on was working properly. After that, I moved to a management consulting firm.As for my motivation, I thought in my youth that the reason why our company could not catch up with the company that invented the general-purpose machine and was praised as an excellent company at that time was because of a flaw in our management strategy. As a result, I have experienced both the work of building computers and the work of using computers as management tools.

Currently, Japanese computer manufacturers are pulling away from general-purpose machines. This is because the main role of hardware has shifted to PCs, servers, and smartphones.Additionally, the excellent company of the past had ceded the position of leader to MS and is lagging behind the emerging GAFA.And it is from these things that...

  1. IT continues to evolve remarkably, and there is a high possibility that new platforms and accompanying big businesses will be born in the future.
  2. The main battlefield of the IT business has shifted from the solid BtoB (business-to-business) market to the risky but vast BtoC (general consumer-to-consumer) market, and the so-called "downward trend" is likely to occur
  3. In the past, excellent companies were trapped in the "curse of success" that is often said in management theory, and could not ride this wave of change well

...which is one way to consider things.

Our university is a graduate school where you can study both "IT," which is developing dynamically, and "management," which is related to IT business; both of which are most exciting from a global perspective.I will spare no effort to support you so that the knowledge and wisdom I have cultivated in both fields will be useful to those who aim to become IT professionals.
