
The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics Cyber Kyoto Research Institute (CKL, Director, Masatoshi Kido Deputy Professor, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics), who manages and operates a new geographical name top-level domain “.kyoto” A concert and party commemorating the opening of the Keihanna Open Innovation Center (KICK) was held on July 19, 2015 at the Kyoto Station Graduate School Kyoto Station Satellite.Many people from Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto City, the business community, universities, and companies and organizations that were among the first to participate in the ".kyoto" Founders Program attended the meeting, and all concerned renewed their aspirations for the creation of a dignified city of Kyoto in cyberspace using ".kyoto.Based on a comprehensive agreement with the Kyoto Prefectural Government, the Cyber Kyoto Institute will operate and conduct research on ".kyoto" as well as promote efforts to build an "Open University Kyoto" to promote cooperative education with universities around the world using e-learning.
The concert will feature "Bassoon and Cello Studies" by Mr. and Mrs. Edelman, who are active on the world's most prestigious stages.The bassoon is also known as a bassoon, and the couple has been active in Japan, performing at the Imperial Palace, the opening ceremony of the Nagano Winter Olympics, and concerts to support victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake.On this day, they played solemn sounds of Mozart's sonatas and Japanese pieces in harmony, and entertained the visitors.The concert was one of the menus of "KCG Summer Festa 2015," a summer festival of the KCG Group, which consists of Kyoto Institute of Information, Kyoto Computer Gakuin, Kyoto Automobile College, etc. Many members of the public attended.

In September 2014, Cyber Kyoto Research Institute's projects were approved by the prefectural government as the first research utilization plan for the center.In addition, on May 26, 2015, the Kyoto Institute of Information and Kyoto Prefecture concluded a comprehensive agreement on collaboration and cooperation, which includes strengthening the dissemination of the Kyoto brand using ".kyoto".

Since then, Kyoto Chuo Shinkin Bank and Sun Chlorella Inc. have registered their domain names, and other Kyoto-based corporate organizations are preparing to register their domain names.The Founders Program runs through November 30 of this year.The subsequent sales program is based on the regulations of ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), a U.S. non-profit organization that manages domains used on the Internet. The schedule is as follows: "Sunrise I" (for alphanumeric and hyphenated character strings registered as trademarks) starting in October, priority registration for public and public service organizations and "Sunrise II" (for trademarked character strings) starting in December, "Landrush" (for sale at a premium price) starting in January 2016, and general registration starting in February 2016.
