As part of the 60th anniversary celebration of Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), the KCG Group will hold a pre-event "SIG (School on Internet Governance) for young people who will lead the future of the Internet" on October 7 (Saturday) to commemorate the Internet Governance Forum (IGF: Internet Governance Forum) 2023 in Kyoto.This is a hybrid session for high school, college, and university students and the general public, held in conjunction with online sessions (with some exceptions), and is free of charge.
The event will include sessions in which young people themselves will present their views on safe and secure Internet use for youth, with the aim of acquiring the knowledge and perspective necessary to engage in dialogue on public policy issues related to the Internet.In addition, with the aim of supporting young people who will be responsible for the future of the Internet, experts visiting Japan from overseas and information educators from Japan will gather to expand the potential of a free and open Internet, and to think, discuss, and learn how to deal with the latest technologies such as AI.
IGF2023 will be held for the first time in Japan on October 8-12, 2012, at the Kyoto International Conference Center.This is an international conference, open to all, hosted by the United Nations to discuss various issues related to the Internet.This year, Japan will be the host country and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will be in charge of hosting.In conjunction with IGF2023, the KCG Group is holding SIG Japan to discuss Internet governance from various perspectives.
