The 2018 The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) degree awarding ceremony and the graduation ceremony of Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), Kyoto Japanese Language Training Center (KJLTC) and Kyoto Automobile College (KCGM) will be held on March 21, 2019. Held at the large hall on the 6th floor of KCGI Kyoto Station Satellite in front of Kyoto Station School.Due to the recent increase in the number of students, the ceremony was divided into two sessions. Amid the serious shortage of human resources in the IT and auto maintenance industries, the graduates, who have acquired advanced skills and knowledge, left the school full of memories with confident and hopeful expressions on their faces.Congratulations to all of you!We sincerely wish you the best of luck in your activities in society.
The first part of the ceremony was held at KCG and KCGM, and the second part was held at KCGI and KJLTC, both connected to the Tokyo satellite.Many graduates, alumni, and parents gathered at the venue, smiles abounding.
KCGI President Toshihide Ibaraki presented the "Master of Information Technology (Professional)" degree to the representative of the graduating class, while the principal of each KCG school presented the diploma and certificate of title to the representative of the KCG graduating class, and KCGM Principal Masayoshi Tezuka presented the certificate to the representative of the KCG graduating class.The award certificates and commemorative gifts were then presented to the graduates and alumni selected for the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award for their outstanding academic and research achievements.
In his address at the ceremony, KCG Group President Wataru Hasegawa said, "The knowledge and skills you have acquired in the fields of ICT and automobiles are solid guidelines for paving the way to the future and supporting the foundations of modern society.There is no doubt that ICT utilization will become increasingly sophisticated and diversified in the future.Now is the time for all of you to be active," he encouraged.He added that the KCG Group, which celebrated its 55th anniversary, has more than 40,000 graduates and alumni who are active in numerous companies in Japan and abroad.I hope you will confidently identify yourself as a junior and build a good network," he said.
President Ibaraki pointed out that while new technologies such as AI have certainly achieved a certain degree of success, they are all still in their infancy, and there is a mountain of problems that need to be solved.Then he added, "You all have to solve it.(Please face (the problem) head on.We hope that you will strive to make the new society that is coming a prosperous, convenient, and safe place to live.In the process, I am sure that great opportunities will arise one after another for you.Please take on challenges aggressively," he said, in a nod of goodwill.
Mr. Okuda of KCG's Game Department delivered the first part of the graduation address, and Mr. Miwa of KCGI delivered the second part, in which he pledged to use the knowledge, skills, and experience he acquired at KCG Group as a springboard to success.
At the end of each ceremony, all attendees sang "Hotarunokari" together.After the ceremony, the KCGI celebration party was held at the Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto.
