The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), Kyoto Japanese Language Training Center (KJLTC), and Kyoto Computer Gakuin Automobile School (KCGM) held their 2025 degree conferment and graduation ceremonies on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the 6th floor main hall of KCG Kyoto Ekimae Campus and KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite.As the development and use of AI advances at a rapid pace and the digitalization of society accelerates further, there is a growing demand for engineers with excellent skills in the IT field and auto mechanics with digital skills.Congratulations to all of you!We sincerely wish you the best in your future endeavors.
Due to the recent increase in the number of students, the ceremony was divided into two parts: the first part in the morning for KCGI and the second part in the afternoon for KCG, KJLTC, and KCGM.On a spring day when the buds of cherry blossoms were swelling, the Main Hall was filled with a festive atmosphere where many graduates and their parents gathered.The ceremony was also broadcast online for the benefit of KCGI Sapporo and Tokyo Satellites.
Wataru Hasegawa, President of KCGI, KCG, and KCGM, conferred the degree of "Master of Information Technology (Professional)" to the representative of the graduating class, and the diploma and the certificate of the title of "Advanced Professional" to the general delegate of the KCG Group.The principal and vice-principal of each school presented diplomas and advanced specialist/specialist title certificates to their respective graduate representatives.Next, the graduates and alumni who had achieved outstanding academic and research results and were selected for the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Outstanding Project Award, and Special Award were presented with certificates, plaques, and commemorative gifts.
In his address at the ceremony, President Hasegawa said, "The IT field continues to advance and develop at an astounding rate.In particular, AI is rapidly expanding its application areas as competition in its development intensifies, and the importance of human resources with solid skills and high ethical standards is higher than ever.I urge you to make the most of the knowledge and skills you have acquired and to continue to improve your skills," he said.He added, "When you go out into the world, you will surely have opportunities to meet your seniors.At that time, you should confidently identify yourself by saying, "I am a junior," and solidify this by building good relationships.Please value not only the relationship between alumni and graduates, but also the connection between seniors and juniors.It will be more powerful in society than you can imagine.We hope that by cooperating and helping each other, you will enrich your lives.I hope that the University and its graduates and alumni will continue to develop together for many years to come," he said in his farewell address.
In his address, Yoichi Terashita, President of KCGI, said, "As engineers, it is important for you to have an accurate sense of ethics in dealing with the relationship between technology and society.There are some factors that make it difficult to make decisions, such as political and diplomatic issues, but I hope that you will always keep in mind that you can make the most accurate ethical decisions possible while assessing your own position," he said.Referring to today's challenging global situation, he said, "The study at our university takes place in a very diverse international environment.This experience will be an extremely important asset for you in your future life.He encouraged the students to remember their international experience at the University when they are faced with international problems and concerns.
Congratulatory telegrams were also presented from people from all walks of life, including Sanae Takaichi, President of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan.
Mr. Furukawa of KCGI gave the graduation address in the first part, and Mr. Iwai of KCG's Department of Art and Information Science, who served as the KCG group's valedictorian, gave the second part.They expressed their determination to contribute to society in their respective fields and to expand the human network of the group in various fields, taking to heart the knowledge and experience they have gained at each school and the relationships they have formed with the people they have met.
At the end of each ceremony, all the participants sang "Hotarunohikari" together.In the evening after the second session, the graduation party was held at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto.The lively venue was filled with smiles and cheers as students exchanged memories of their student life and dreams for the future, and there was also a prize drawing for prizes provided by sponsors.
