Information University Educational Corporation: The University of Informatics Educational Corporation, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), and Kyoto Japanese Language Training Center (KJLTC),and Kyoto Automobile Technical College (KCGM), were held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in the Grand Hall on the 6th floor of the KCG Kyoto Ekimae Campus and KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite.As the development and use of AI advance at a rapid pace, further accelerating the digital transformation of society, and as demand for top-tier IT engineers and automotive technicians with digital skills continues to grow, our graduates—armed with extensive knowledge and advanced technical skills—left our school with eyes sparkling with confidence and hope.Congratulations to everyone.I sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Due to the increase in student enrollment in recent years, the ceremony was divided into two sessions: the first session in the morning was held for KCGI, and the second session in the afternoon was held for KCG, KJLTC, and KCGM.On a spring day when the cherry blossom buds were beginning to swell, the grand hall—filled with many graduates and their parents—was enveloped in a festive atmosphere.The ceremony was also streamed online for everyone at the KCGI Sapporo Satellite and Tokyo Satellite offices.
Wataru Hasegawa, Rector of KCGI, KCG, and KCGM, presented the "Master of Science in Information Technology (Professional Degree)" degree certificate to the representative of the graduating class, and awarded the graduation certificate and the certificate conferring the title of “Advanced Specialist” to the KCG Group representative.The principals and vice principals of each school presented diplomas and certificates conferring the titles of “Advanced Specialist” and “Specialist” to their respective student representatives.Next, certificates of commendation, awards, plaques, and commemorative gifts were presented to graduates who had achieved outstanding academic and research results and were selected for the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Outstanding Project Award, and Special Award.
In his commencement address, President Hasegawa said, “The field of IT continues to advance and evolve at an astonishing pace."In particular, as competition in AI development intensifies, the scope of its applications is expanding rapidly, and the importance of professionals with solid skills and strong ethical standards is greater than ever," he noted, adding, "We have high expectations for all of you.""Please make it a priority to continue improving your skills while putting the knowledge and techniques you have acquired into practice," he urged.And, “Once you enter the workforce, you’re bound to have opportunities to meet your seniors.At that time, confidently introduce yourself by saying, “I’m a junior,” and build and strengthen good relationships with others.Please value not only the relationships among alumni, but also the bonds between seniors and juniors.In society, that has more power than you might imagine.We hope that by working together and helping one another, you will all lead richer lives."I sincerely hope that our university and its alumni will continue to thrive together for generations to come," he said in his farewell remarks.
In his commencement address, Yoichi Terashita, President of KCGI, said, “As engineers who will shoulder the responsibility for the future of society, it is crucial that you approach the relationship between technology and society with a sound sense of ethics.”"While there are factors that make it difficult to make judgments—such as political and diplomatic issues—I ask that you always strive to make the most accurate ethical judgments possible while carefully assessing your own position," he urged.He then referred to today’s challenging global situation, stating, “Learning at this university takes place within a highly diverse international environment.”These experiences will surely become an invaluable asset in your future lives."If you ever face international challenges or find yourself struggling, please remember the international experiences you gained at this university," he encouraged them.
Congratulatory messages from various figures, including Sanae Takaichi, President of the Liberal Democratic Party, were also read aloud.
The closing remarks for the graduation ceremony were delivered by Ms. Furukawa of KCGI in the first part, and by Ms. Iwai of KCG's Art and Design Informatics Program—who served as the KCG Group student representative—in the second part.With the knowledge and experience they gained at their respective schools, as well as the connections they forged with the people they met, they expressed their determination to contribute to society in their respective fields and to expand the group’s network of contacts in various directions.
At the end of each ceremony, all the participants sang "Hotarunohikari" together.In the evening, after the conclusion of Part 2, the completion and graduation celebration was held at the Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto.The lively venue, where attendees exchanged stories about their college days and future dreams, was filled with smiles and cheers, thanks in part to a raffle featuring prizes provided by sponsoring companies.
