Mr. Lucien Castex, co-chair of the Steering Committee of the French Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and a member of the French Association for Cooperative Internet Naming (AFNIC), which manages and operates the French national top-level domain ".fr", visited Japan on May 17, 2024, for a reception at the Tokyo satellite of the Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI).
People involved in the Internet Governance Forum in Japan gathered to ask questions about the Global Digital Compact, which is currently under consultation at the United Nations, and the structure of the French IGF.Mr. Castex expressed his hope that Japan's active IGF activities will further strengthen the multi-stakeholder model, involving people from diverse backgrounds.
The meeting was made possible by the Tokyo Satellite of KCGI, a member of the Japanese "Domestic IGF Activation Team," which is dedicated to educational activities related to Internet governance, providing the venue.
