
Mr. Lucien Castex, co-chair of the Steering Committee of the French Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and a member of the French Association for Cooperative Internet Naming (AFNIC), which manages and operates the French national top-level domain ".fr", visited Japan on May 17, 2024, for a reception at the Tokyo satellite of the Kyoto Computer Guraduate Institute (KCGI).
People involved in the Internet Governance Forum in Japan gathered to ask questions about the Global Digital Compact, which is currently under consultation at the United Nations, and the structure of the French IGF.Mr. Castex expressed his hope that the multi-stakeholder model, in which people from diverse positions participate, will be further strengthened by the increased activity of the IGF in Japan.
The meeting was made possible by the Tokyo Satellite of KCGI, a member of the Japanese "Domestic IGF Activation Team," which is dedicated to educational activities related to Internet governance, providing the venue.
