Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) will be held at the Kyoto Computer Gakuin Kyoto Station / Kyoto Institute of Information Satellite 6th floor large hall on October 29, 2019 (Tuesday) The “MUΣA Live Show” is a main vocalist of the entertainment group “Cirque du Soleil” and created by Kyoto University Graduate School of Information Science, Professor Nitza Melas, together with students of the University.This performance is for invited guests and interested parties only.
Nizza's brother, musician John Melas, joined the performance and accompanied the music, which was constructed and controlled by computer.The two will perform a new song together.Mr. Kirill Kosik, a visual artist who has worked on VFX for many Hollywood movies and an associate professor at Kyoto Institute of Information Graduate University, will produce a real time interactive performance with 3DCG images using the latest ICT.In this show, Nizza and others perform against a background of CG images of the sea, outer space, temples, etc., created by Kirill using AI that learns the students' body movements. The CG of a falcon synchronized with the students' body movements and the CG of a butterfly linked to the movements of smartphones held by several audience members using a special application fly around the screen.
The "MUΣA Show" by Nizza and students was inspired by the album "MUΣA" by Nizza Melas to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Kyoto Computer Gakuin and the 10th anniversary of Kyoto Institute of Information in 2013.This is the second "MUΣA Live Show" by Nizza and her students, the first being in January 2016.In addition to this, in August 2016, the MUΣA Show was held with hair stylists and hair and makeup artists, both at the University.
