
On August 11, 2024, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) and the Japan Federation of IT Organizations (IT Federation), the largest organization of its kind in Japan, with more than 60 major IT-related organizations (about 5,000 member companies and 4 million employees), of which KCGI President Wataru Hasegawa serves as the first director and first vice president, concluded an international exchange agreement (MOU) with the Ministry of Digital Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan to strengthen digital education and promote promising IT-related projects to develop IT human resources.We will work hand in hand to develop Uzbekistan's human resources with Japanese language and IT skills.
On this day, two Japanese universities, two organizations, and three companies, including KCGI and IT Alliance, attended the "Liaison Meeting for Digital Cooperation with Uzbekistan," where KCGI Vice President Yoichi Terashita and IT Alliance Director and International Committee Chairman Professor Toshiaki Tateishi from KCGI attended to exchange views with Minister Shermatov from the Ministry of Digital Technology of Uzbekistan.In recent years, the country has focused on fostering its IT industry, and the digitalization of the economy and the expansion of the IT market are progressing rapidly.Minister Schermatov introduced the country's digital education sector, where projects are underway to support talented young people and train them for careers in IT. He called for further promotion of these projects in cooperation with the Japanese side and the creation of employment opportunities for young people through the establishment of a remote IT service outsourcing zone with the involvement of Japanese IT organizations and companies.
With the conclusion of the MOU, KCGI and the IT Alliance will promote various initiatives for the development of excellent IT human resources by stimulating the exchange of human resources between KCGI and the IT Alliance.
