The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) Cyber Kyoto Research Institute debuted in Cyberspace, the geographical name top-level domain “Kyoto” with the sole support from Kyoto Prefecture and serving as a management operator (registry).Urasenke, a tea ceremony master based in Kyoto, was the first to start using "ususenke.kyoto" on June 1, 2015.
Cyber Kyoto Institute has been preparing for the operation of ".kyoto" by inviting companies and organizations in Kyoto Prefecture to become founder members of the Founders Program, a priority registration program.Founders can pre-order and acquire up to 20 domain names.We received applications and inquiries from many companies and organizations, and Urasenke's "ususenke.kyoto" was the first to register.
The Founders Program runs through November 30 of this year.
