KCGI Professor Sanford Gold and Assistant Professor Ananda Nepal visited the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, on January 14, 2026, to discuss future research and academic exchange.
KCGI and Kelaniya University will enter into an educational partnership in 2019.In 2025, Dr. Paranagama Priyani, Dean of the Graduate School of Kelaniya University, Dr. Kotte Kankanamge Kithsiri Dharmathilaka, Secretary General, and others visited KCGI and signed an inter-university exchange agreement to further strengthen relations.The discussions were attended by Dr. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice President of the University of Kelaniya, Dr. Paranagama Priyani, Dean of the Graduate School of Kelaniya University, and others.Discussions focused on new academic needs and global human resource development, with particular emphasis on strengthening ties in graduate education between Sri Lanka and Japan, with a focus on faculty exchanges, student programs, and e-learning.
The University of Kelaniya, founded in 1959, is one of Sri Lanka's top national universities.It has approximately 15,000 students, including more than 500 international students, in 185 degree programs in seven faculties.Agreement with KCGI on cooperative educational programs in 2019.Many graduates of KCGI from the University of Kelaniya are working as IT engineers in Japan, Sri Lanka and other countries.
