On April 14, 2026, Kyoto Computer Guraduate Institute of Informatics (KCGI) and Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) concluded a comprehensive agreement with Tmsuk Corporation (Head office: Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto; President: Yuji Kawakubo) on collaboration and cooperation for the development of next-generation robots and human resource development through the application of ICT (information and communication technology).KCGI/KCG and Tmsuk mutually collaborate and cooperate with each other to promote efforts related to robot development and to contribute to the development of education, research, and social cooperation activities of both parties.Tmsuk, which develops robots at the forefront of industry, and KCGI and KCG, which have strengths in ICT education and research, will work together to accelerate next-generation technological innovation and the development of human resources to support it.
At the signing ceremony, KCGI/KCG President Wataru Hasegawa and Tmsuk Representative Director and Chairman Yoichi Takamoto signed the agreement.Looking back on his experience of manufacturing humanoids 20 years ago, Mr. Takamoto emphasized the importance of building robots made entirely in Japan, including parts, and managing data on a server located in Japan. To create a physical AI, it is necessary to collect a large amount of data.We would like to collect them together with the cooperation of KCGI and KCG students. We would also like to ask for cooperation in the development of large robots for disaster response and other applications," he said.President Hasegawa introduced KCGI and KCG's founding and educational philosophies, saying, "We want our students to become engineers who will be responsible for future technology and create the world of the future. As an educational institution, we believe that only Japan can offer ICT education.I look forward to leading a new era together with Temuzak," he said. The two parties plan to promote joint research on Tmsuk's "Workroid" and strengthen ICT education and social cooperation. Finally, as a commemorative performance to mark the conclusion of the collaboration agreement, international pianist Kyoko Tagawa, a professor at KCGI, performed Chopin's "Brilliant Waltz. After the closing ceremony, the participating KCG engineering students looked at the robots exhibited by Tmsuk and listened intently to the engineers' explanations while asking questions.
