KCGI's Mr. Hayashi presents his graduate research results at IEICE

Mr. Hayashi, a student at the Kyoto College of Informatics (KCGI), presented his research results at KCGI in the Fundamentals and Boundary Society/NOLTA Society Section of the 2022 Society Convention held online by the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) on September 6, 2022.The conference is one of the largest in Japan with approximately 26,000 members, including IT professionals and students, and this presentation demonstrated the high level of KCGI to IT professionals.It will be an encouragement to other current students.

The paper presented was "Proposal of No Reference Type Image Objective Quality Evaluation Method Using CNN" (co-authored by Assistant Professor Yimeng Sun and Associate Professor Takao Nakaguchi).In the general session of the same division in the "Image, Media, and Quality" genre, Mr. Hayashi, a student of the Honors Master Project, proposed a fast method for determining image quality from degraded images by learning degraded images and the results of existing evaluation methods using CNNs.

KCGI, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2023, has eight specialized fields of study: artificial intelligence, data science, web system development, global entrepreneurship, ERP, IT manga/anime, and tourism IT, in addition to network management, which Mr. Hayashi will study, so students can acquire specialized and broad knowledge.In recent years, KCGI has received a growing number of presentations and awards at various conferences.
