
Kyoto International Manga/Anime FFix the incorrect nameFix the incorrect nameair (KYOMAF) 2024, one of the largest manga/anime events in western Japan, was jointly organized by Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, 22 at Kyoto Municipal Industrial Hall (Miyakomesse), Rohm Theater Kyoto, Kyoto International Manga Museum and others.KCG Group set up a booth on the first floor of the Miyakomesse venue, where animator Akihiko Ota delivered a live drawing of an animation on YouTube Live, which was viewed by many visitors.The booth was filled with many fans, including a talk show hosted and moderated by popular voice actor Yuki Nagano.
KYOMAFU is held every year for the purpose of promoting the content industry, fostering the development of manga and anime artists, and disseminating information overseas.This year, a record number of 67 companies and 197 organizations exhibited.With the addition of a character café, a traditional industry experience, and a game market, which was held for the first time at KYOMAFU, the venue was filled with excitement as more fans than usual came to enjoy their favorite character goods and exhibits.
At the KCG booth, Mr. Ota gave a "digital drawing demonstration using an LCD tablet," introducing a series of animation production processes: storyboard→drawings→animation→finishing.He introduced practical techniques such as: "It is important to keep the same size and composition when drawing the character's figure piece by piece according to the image of the movement," "The advantage of a pen tablet is that you can freely enlarge a picture and refer to it by overlapping pictures in different areas, but as you enlarge, lines become blurred, so it is important to zoom in appropriately," "However, you should not simply zoom in on one part of the picture; the picture as a whole will look more compelling if you draw it with an overview of the whole picture in mind.
At the booth, Ms. Nagano, the host and facilitator of the event, also held a talk show with science fiction author Hiroe Suga.Ms. Nagano demonstrated how to express herself and her voice as only a voice actor can, while Mr. Suga showed how to express words in his writing as a writer.The large crowd of fans was smiling and excited from start to finish.Mr. Nagano also mentioned the IT Voice Actor Course in the Information Technology Department that KCG has established.Student staff members made the KCG booth a great success.
The KCG Group will continue to contribute to the industry by cooperating in the organization of events such as KYOMAFU, while working to develop the human resources required by the industry.
