On Friday, November 7, 2008, the 2008 Fall Conference of the International CIO Society was held at Waseda University, and two presentations were made by our students.Both groups plan to submit the results of their conference presentations to the Transactions of the International Conference on CIO.The presentation will include the following
- The Role of CIO for Green Procurement by Means of ERP: From Norms to Practice: A Proposal of Green Procurement Diffusion Model in Japan", Seiki Nakamura, Masahiro Kawaguchi, and Harufumi Ueda
- Japanese companies have been slow to implement green procurement due to high costs and other reasons.We proposed that the use of ERP and outsourcing of green procurement review operations would be effective in promoting green procurement operations while keeping costs down, and that the leadership of the CIO would be indispensable in promoting such operations.
