Ms. Xue of The University of Informatics Educational Corporation, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) received the Encouragement Award in the "2025 International Student Essay Competition" sponsored by Inter-University Seminar House and co-sponsored by Mediachina.The theme for the 2025 competition is "New Goals Discovered through Study Abroad Experiences," and Ms. Xue applied with a paper titled "Consideration of Manners Violations in Overtourism," based on her own study abroad experience and her efforts in her IT Tourism field of Concentration.Against the background of the recent problem of overtourism in tourist areas, the article examines violations of manners by visitors to Japan as one angle, and argues that "it is important to let visitors understand politeness experientially as an attraction of Japanese culture, rather than simply imposing it as an 'obligation'.
Xue said, "I am very honored to have received recognition for the results of my research, which utilizes my perspective as an international student studying tourism IT.
