KCGI opened a new satellite office in Athens, Greece, in April 2026.This is the first overseas satellite to be established, and will be the main base in Europe for the KCG Group, including its group school Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), against the backdrop of a global environment that attracts students from all over the world.
KCGI offers a number of lectures in "English mode" so that students can complete their studies at the University and obtain a master's degree by attending lectures only in English. As a result, there are many students from Europe and faculty members of European origin. With the opening of the Athens satellite, we intend to expand our network and strengthen ties with partner schools in the EU region.
In addition to accepting degree-seeking students, the Athens satellite will accept students who wish to study abroad in Japan, as well as participants in the WORK JAM/GAME JAM and "Discover Japan" programs to experience Japanese culture through exchanges with KCGI and KCG students. In addition, we plan to develop a wide range of initiatives, such as offering lectures on the Japanese content industry, including manga and anime, and distributing special lectures by researchers living in Europe to Japan.
Professor Kyriakos Melas KCGI, a native of Athens, said, "Athens is a wonderful place to live and study. We hope that many students will come to Athens and further study in Japan.Japanese students are also welcome to visit the Athens Satellite. We are very much looking forward to this new development."
KCGI has a main campus in Kyoto (Hyakumanben Campus, Kyoto Ekimae Satellite), as well as Sapporo and Tokyo Satellites in Japan. The Athens satellite is the first overseas satellite, and we plan to open more satellites in Japan and abroad in the future. We have offices in New York, USA, Beijing, Dalian, and Shanghai, China, and have academic partnerships with many educational institutions around the world.
