
KCGI signed an inter-university exchange agreement with the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.The signing ceremony was held at the Hyakumanben Campus of KCGI Kyoto, and was attended by KCGI President Yoichi Terashita and others from KCGI, and Dean Paranagama Priyani and Director General Kotte Kankanamge Kithsiri Dharmathilaka from Kelaniya University.The two schools plan to discuss an online learning platform at the University of Kelaniya, the establishment of a master's program in content and entertainment (film and television) and the development of a more specific curriculum for further exchange between the two institutions, and the enhancement of study abroad programs, including short-term study abroad programs.The KCG Group, including KCGI and Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), actively promotes the establishment of cooperative relationships with universities and educational institutions around the world.
The University of Kelaniya, founded in 1959, is one of Sri Lanka's top national universities.It has approximately 15,000 students, including more than 500 international students, in 185 degree programs in seven faculties.Agreement with KCGI on cooperative educational programs in 2019.Many graduates of KCGI from the University of Kelaniya are working as IT engineers in Japan, Sri Lanka and other countries.
At the signing ceremony, President Terashita noted that KCGI has been focusing on programs that allow students to earn degrees by studying only in English, and that students from many countries are currently studying together.President Paranagama emphasized the university's strategic goal of strengthening international relations, with an emphasis on the Americas, Europe, South Asia, and Japan, saying, "I am confident that this visit will lay a solid foundation for a constructive relationship between our two institutions in the future.We are determined to start working for the future immediately," he said.
Since its founding, the KCG Group has been actively involved in building a global educational network.Since the opening of KCGI in 2004, KCGI has concluded academic exchange agreements with universities in China, Korea, the Czech Republic, and Italy.In recent years, we have focused on exchange with South Asia, accepting many excellent students from Sri Lanka, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and other countries.
