This is the fifth volume of the "Kiki-Nagatari Series," a series of long interviews with university professors who have devoted themselves to the development of private universities, planned and supported by the Japan Association of Private Colleges and Universities.The author is Hiroshi Jindai, former director of the Social Education Division of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and former director of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.The following is a summary of interviews with KCG Group President Wataru Hasegawa conducted over several sessions.

In the Foreword, Mr. Jindai states, "The history of KCG and KCGI is not limited to the history of a single private school, but is the accumulation of sincere efforts to answer the questions of 'what is higher education,' 'what is a school,' and 'what does it mean to educate people' when a system with the potential to radically change human civilization, the computer, appeared.
Many quotes are taken from the memoirs of KCG's founder, Yasuko Hasegawa, KCG's second president, and the book provides an easy-to-read account of the period before KCG's founding, President Hasegawa's childhood, and the road to the opening of KCGI, along with episodes from that time.
