Lecture "Invitation to Applied Informatics" will be delivered on JMOOC

Invitation to Applied Informatics
 

From March 23, 2015, The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) will be giving lectures on universities and other lectures online at JMOOC (Japan Massive Open Online Courses, operated by the Japan Massive Open Online Education Promotion Council). "Invitation to applied informatics-from business management to animation" will be distributed.By April 26, we plan to deliver lectures on the following four themes: Informatics of Life Infrastructure, Informatics of Business Management, Informatics of Animation, and Informatics of Human Resource Development.

The aim of the lecture is to understand how ICT is applied in the real world, especially what advantages and disadvantages ICT has in various businesses.

Navigation Toshihide Ibaraki

Week 1: Informatics of Life Infrastructure March 23- Lecturer: Keiji Emi
Lectures on basic contents of information and communication technologies (ICT) such as digitization, database, network, cloud computing, and modeling through familiar examples.

Week 2: Informatics in Corporate Management March 30- Lecturer: Harufumi Ueda
The information systems used in the manufacturing industry are explained, and the ideal form of the corporate system is lectured from the viewpoint of management.

Week 3: Informatics of Animation April 3 - Lecturer: NAGURA Saoko
This lecture is about how animation production has changed with the digitalization and what kind of business model it will be in the age of video site diffusion.

Week 4: Informatics for Human Resource Development April 10- Lecturer: Toshio Okamoto
With the development of information and communication technology, e-learning has become a familiar tool for human resource development.This lecture is about human resource development using e-learning.

Toshihide Ibaraki

Toshihide Ibaraki
Current position: President, Kyoto Institute of Information Graduate University
D. in Engineering from Kyoto University. He has been a professor at Kyoto University and Kwansei Gakuin University, and is a former visiting scholar at the University of Illinois and Rutgers University.He is a Fellow of the ACM, the Operations Research Society of Japan, the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, the Information Processing Society of Japan, and the Japanese Society for Applied Mathematics. Areas of expertise: algorithms, computational complexity, optimization and its applications
Books: "Algorithms and data structures in C" (Ohm-sha, 2014), "Mathematics of optimization" (Kyoritsu Shuppan, 2011), "Algorithmic aspects of graph connectivity" (co-author)

Keiji Emi

Keiji EmiCurrent position: Associate Professor, Kyoto Institute of Information Graduate University
After graduating from Kyoto University with a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Human and Environmental Studies, he worked as a lecturer at Kyoto Computer Institute and a full-time lecturer at Kanazawa Institute of Technology before assuming his current position.He also teaches at Fujian Normal University in China.Chairman of the ET Robocon Kansai Region Executive Committee. Areas of expertise: object-oriented modeling, instructional design in e-learning, MathML web representation of mathematical expressions, etc. Books: "Linear Algebra and Geometry" (Kyoritsu Shuppan, 2004) and 6 others

Harufumi Ueda

Harufumi UedaCurrent position: Professor, Kyoto Institute of Information Graduate University
After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at Osaka City University, he served as General Manager of the IT/ERP Promotion Office at SANYO Electric Co. He is the head of SAP Users Group Kansai Forum and a former member of IBM Users Group Kansai.

Saohko Nagura

Natsura, SaekoCurrent position: Lecturer at Kyoto Institute of Information, President of KARU Inc.
