The Kyoto International Manga/Anime Fair (KIMAF) 2021, the largest manga/anime convention in western Japan, was jointly organized by Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) and Kyoto College of Graphic Arts (KCGI), and was held on September 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun), mainly at the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Exhibition Hall (Miyakomesse). At the KCG Group booth, the "Animation Animation Live Lecture with Kyoto Computer Gakuin" was held to explain the animation production process through a live online streaming of a digital animation demonstration by a professional animator in Saitama, which attracted many visitors.

KYOMAFU is held annually to support the creation of new businesses that utilize manga and anime, to support the development of creators and create employment opportunities, to attract more tourists, and to strengthen the brand power of Kyoto as a content city by transmitting Japanese cultural manga and anime to the world. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the event, and in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the event was held with some reductions in the size of the event after thorough infection control measures such as restricted admission, temperature checks at the entrance, and the installation of rubbing alcohol at various locations in the venue.Despite this, the venue was filled with the same enthusiasm as in previous years, as fans came to enjoy their favorite character goods and exhibits.

The KCG booth was connected online to the Saitama studio of Akihiko Ota, a representative of the Animator Guild Studio PaTHoS, who is active at the forefront as a professional animator, and live-streamed a demonstration of digital drawing by Mr. Ota using an LCD tablet on the video sharing service "YouTube Live.In a friendly atmosphere facilitated by Ms. Airen Ichinose of the studio's production department, many people stopped to watch the professional skills being demonstrated one after another.Mr. Ota demonstrated a series of animation production processes such as "storyboard→drawing→video→finishing" through a total of seven live broadcasts over two days, introducing practical techniques such as "it is important to keep the same size and composition when drawing the character's figure one by one according to the image of movement," "the advantage of a pen tablet is that you can freely enlarge a picture and refer to it by overlapping pictures in other areas, but as you enlarge, lines become blurred, so it is important to zoom in appropriately," "however, you can make a picture more compelling when you see the whole picture by drawing the whole picture instead of simply zooming in on one part," and so on.

For those who aspire to become animators, he said, "There is no set path to becoming an animator, and there are many different career paths and methods.I encourage you to hone your skills in the way that best suits you," he said.

The 2021 convention of "Seiyu Soul," which the KCG Group led and hosted the Kinki convention, has been canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus both in Japan and abroad.
