On June 14, 2024, the KCG Group, including Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), and Kyoto Computer Gakuin Automobile School (KCGM), held the "Eriko Sumi & Kyoko Tagawa Duo Concert" Part 1 and Part 2 at the main hall of KCG Kyoto Ekimae Campus and KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite Hall, with world-renowned violinist Eriko Sumi and international pianist Kyoko Tagawa, Professor of KCGI.In addition to KCG Group students, the audience included faculty members and students of ESTIAM (École supérieure des technologies de l'information appliquées aux métiers), a French university currently visiting our university, and other guests who understand and support our educational activities.
Ms. Sumi graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in the U.S. in 1998, and later gave her New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall.He has performed with many orchestras in the United States, Italy, Austria, Scandinavia, Bulgaria, etc. In Japan, he has performed at Suntory Hall, Tokyo International Forum, etc., and with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, etc.He currently resides in Milan, Italy, and works mainly in that country and Austria.The duo on this occasion echoed the sound of the violin's virtuoso instrument, the Garnerius.
Professor Tagawa graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts with a Bachelor of Music (M.A.: Music) and from the Karl Maria von Weber University of Music and Performing Arts, Dresden, Germany.With a wide repertoire ranging from baroque to modern and contemporary music, she has given numerous solo recitals in Japan and abroad, and is active in many other fields, including performing with orchestras and chamber music.He is also known for his successful "Complete Beethoven Piano Sonata Concerts" (2009-2011).KCGI lectures on "Introduction to Music".On this day, we played Stanway, the hall's permanent piano.
