The magnitude 8 earthquake that struck Sichuan Province, China on May 12, 2008, caused tremendous damage, leaving as many as 100,000 people dead or missing, and many people are still forced to live as evacuees due to collapsed houses and roads cut off.The students who have studied abroad from China at The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics and Kyoto Computer Gakuin are deeply amazed by the disaster of their home country.
Although we are unable to go to the affected areas to provide relief, Chinese students from Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology and Kyoto Computer Gakuin University have gathered together to form the "kcg.edu Chinese Students Association for Reconstruction of Earthquake Affected Areas" (Representative: Mr. Xuan Mingcheng, Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology), and from May 23 (Friday) to 25 (Sunday) we held street fund-raising activities in Kyoto City.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With the cooperation of Kyoto Institute of Information Science and Technology and Kyoto Computer Gakuin College, we have decided to conduct a fund-raising campaign for the same purpose on the Internet.Your goodwill will be transferred to the Japanese Red Cross Society through the school, and will be used for support and relief for the victims and reconstruction of the affected areas.
Many Japanese people are supporting us.I would love to share this with the locals. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
