
Prof. Milan Brach and Prof. Yuko Masuda of the Kyoto Computer Graphics Institute (KCGI) visited Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, from November 12 to 15, 2024, where Prof. Brach gave a special lecture at Tribhuvan National University (TU), which has a university exchange agreement with KCG Group.
The special lecture was given at the invitation of the TU Central Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (TU-CDCSIT) and coordinated by Professor Binod Joshi, TU International Relation Department.For the KCGI side, Assistant Professor Ananda Nepal, who arrived in the country prior to Prof. Brach and others, was in charge of preparations.Assistant Professor Nepal is a former international student from Nepal to KCGI.
Prof. Brach, Prof. Masuda, and Assistant Prof. Nepal visited TU-CDCSIT on 13th.He was welcomed by Dean Salvin Sayami and other faculty members.Prof. Brach lectured on "Two Centuries of Linear Programming.Assistant Professor Nepal also gave a presentation on AI architecture.After the special lecture, a meeting with curriculum development staff was held at the TU Center office.
After their visit to TU, Professor Brach and Assistant Professor Nepal also gave a special lecture at the Model Institute of Technology (MIT), a private university.
Founded in 1959, TU is Nepal's oldest and largest national university.It has produced many excellent human resources and contributed to the modernization and development of the country.KCG Group has been active in exchanges with Nepalese universities, concluding inter-university exchange agreements with TU-CDCSIT in July 2022 and with TU-Mechi Multiple Campus in January 2024.We promote joint development of educational and research projects, exchange of faculty and students, and holding symposiums and seminars.TU has already begun approving equivalencies between the KCGI Master's degree and TU's Master's degree in Information Technology for Nepalese graduates who meet the requirements.
