On March 31, 2025, Kyoto College of GIS (KCGI) concluded an "Experiential Learning Agreement" with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and National Jeju National University in South Korea to conduct a "Lancation (Educational Tourism)" program, a compound word of Learning and Vacation.On the same day, Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology and Jeju National University, which have been cooperating with each other for some time, concluded a new "3+2 Cooperative Educational Program Agreement between Kyoto University of Information Science and Technology and Jeju National University" regarding the dispatch of international students.The signing ceremony was held at Jeju National University in Jeju City and was attended by Wataru Hasegawa, President of KCGI, Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), and Kyoto College of Gearmanship (KCGM) and other KCG Group officials from KCGI, Governor Oh Young-hoon and other officials from Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and President Kim Il-hwan from Jeju National University.KCG Group has been promoting the establishment of cooperative relationships with Jeju National University and other universities and educational institutions around the world, but this is the first experiential learning agreement.

Rancation" is a new educational program that has begun in recent years to provide "experiential learning" opportunities through educational travel that combines academic goals with cultural exploration.Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (= Jeju Island) is one of the most popular destinations in Korea, rich in nature, history, and culture, and is visited by many tourists from Japan.At the signing ceremony, President Hasegawa stated, "We will do everything we can to support Jeju Island, which is famous in both Japan and Korea, so that it will become the birthplace of international lancation.He introduced that plans are underway to recruit students from the KCG group for another Japan-to-Jeju runcation in August 2025.

The purpose of the new agreement with Jeju National University is to nurture highly specialized IT-savvy professionals in the global business environment of the digital economy through the dispatch of students from Korea to Japan.Regardless of your major at university, you can choose one of nine specialized fields, such as "Artificial Intelligence," at KCGI, where you will study abroad, to pursue a master's degree.If you have completed three years of undergraduate study at Jeju National University or three years of the cooperative education program, one year of credits earned while studying at KCGI will be recognized as credits required for graduation from Jeju National University.
In his address, President Hasegawa expressed his hope that the new agreement will greatly contribute to the further development of both parties and the enhancement of IT education.

Founded in 1952, Jeju National University is a university with 13 faculties, 10 graduate schools including a graduate school of medicine and a graduate school of law, and many other affiliated facilities.We have already been cooperating with KCGI for 20 years.In 2006, the two countries signed an academic exchange agreement for the purpose of education and research in the field of ICT and mutual personnel exchange, and in 2008 they agreed to establish a Japan-Korea Cyber Campus where students from both countries can take courses via the Internet.In 2010, they signed an agreement to operate a dual degree program that allows students to earn degrees from both institutions while transferring credits.In 2024, we signed an academic exchange agreement to share our expertise in multilingual education.
In February 2024, President Hasegawa received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree from National Jeju National University.

The signing ceremony will be held on the morning of March 31 for the tripartite agreement between KCGI, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and National Jeju National University, and in the afternoon of the same day for the new agreement between KCGI and Jeju National University.After the signing ceremony, a joint concert by the Jeju National University Orchestra and KCGI Professor Kyoko Tagawa, a world-class pianist, was held at the Jeju National University Alamuse Hall.
