＜Title: "Universities and OR (Operations Research)
＜A case study of the application of OR (Operations Research) to business improvement at Nanzan University will be presented.At Nanzan University, faculty members specializing in OR and statistics and administrative staff are implementing a business improvement project called "Project N" (N is an acronym for "Nanzan").This project has greatly improved the efficiency of some of the university's operations.In carrying out the project, frontline administrative staff, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students worked together to solve the problems, and the results of the project have been recognized by the entire university, including the university executive office.In this talk, we will introduce the case studies of the project including the process of implementation and the concrete results.
＜After working as an assistant at the Faculty of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, he became a lecturer at the Faculty of Business Administration, Nanzan University in 1986, a professor in 1998, a professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science, Nanzan University in 2000, and a professor at the Faculty of Information Science and Technology in April 2009 due to a change in the name of the faculty.He specializes in operations research.In 2005, he joined Project N.He has been responsible for the project since 2007.
