
On March 12, 2025, a delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Kyoto Computer Guraduate Institute of Information Technology (KCGI) and Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) to exchange views on the Japanese game and animation fields at KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite and KCG Kyoto Ekimae School.
The five visitors included Akihiro Sakurai, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technology of Uzbekistan, and Abduvali Khaydarov, Director of the IT Investment Center.After a welcome speech by KCGI President Yoichi Terashita, Dr. Sakurai said, "I am glad to have such a precious opportunity to visit Kyoto.KCGI Professor Yasuhiro Takeda then explained the flow of animation production and the Japanese animation business, and KCG Digital Games Department Chair Isao Takahashi explained the development of game education in the KCG Group.Dr. Takahashi also mentioned the possibility of collaboration, such as game jams with students from Uzbekistan, and the members of the survey team listened with great interest, asking questions as they went along.KCGI Professor Sholom Gold also introduced the educational goals of the new IT Entertainment specialization to be established at KCGI in April 2025.
From the Uzbekistan side, Mr. Khaydarov, Director General of the Uzbekistan Creative Association, introduced the activities of the Uzbekistan Creative Association, a general incorporated association to be established in 2024 to integrate more than 30 companies including game developers and animation production companies, and the human resource development efforts of the IT Investment Center, an organization of the Ministry of Digital Technology.He stated that the government is supporting IT education for young people and the development of creators, and that they are also focusing on international collaboration and hope to collaborate with Japan in the future.This time, he visited Japan specifically to learn about game development in Japan.In the future, we would like to produce higher quality games, animations, and other content in Uzbekistan, and to this end, we hope to establish exchanges with Japanese educational institutions and realize teacher training sessions and student exchange programs.Three international students from Uzbekistan studying at KCG also participated in the meeting, which was conducted in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish.
KCGI and the Ministry of Digital Technology of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed an international exchange agreement in August 2024 on strengthening the digital education sector and developing IT human resources by promoting promising IT-related projects.We will continue to visit each other and promote further exchanges.
