
Nineteen students and faculty members from ESTIAM (École supérieure des technologies de l'information appliquées aux métiers), a French university that has a friendly relationship with the KCG Group, came to Japan and held a "work jam" with students from KCGI and Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG) on June 16, 2024, at the Hyakumanben campus of The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI).In this work jam, each group will come up with a product or service and present a business plan, including marketing, under the theme of "Development of original products and services that will help build a more effective relationship between Japan and France.The work jam began with an online meeting prior to their arrival in Japan, followed by a meeting of students at a welcome party on June 9 after their arrival, and then group work was conducted using SNS and other means.Despite the language barrier of Japanese and French, they used translation tools and communication in English to come up with ideas and finalize their plans for the presentation on the final day.
The ESTIAM students stayed in Japan for 11 days.On June 13, students took an "Introduction to Illustrator" class at KCG and worked on illustrations using an LCD tablet. On June 14, they enjoyed a duo performance by violin and piano virtuosos at the "Eriko Sumi & Kyoko Tagawa Duo Concert" held at KCG Kyoto Ekimae School and KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite Main Hall.They also visited Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Nara, and experienced Zen meditation and tea ceremony.
